The Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts  will celebrate its Grand Opening during a week-long series of events from February 19-24, 2008. The New Albany Community Foundation, through endowments, private donations and fund-raising events will support the programming efforts to attract guest lecturers, artists, and first-class cultural opportunities to the center. The New Albany Company donated the land for the McCoy Center. The vision was to serve both the New Albany Schools and the New Albany community. The 35,000 square foot facility will seat 750 in the assembly hall. The theater is designed to allow every audience member to feel close to the stage. The students will use it for daily activities such as bands, orchestras, ensembles, choirs, drama, lectures and assemblies. The vision to create a first-class performing arts center for our community is the result of hard work by the Board of Directors and hundreds of volunteers on various committees for programming, marketing, outreach and others. There will be multiple performances, and community events during the week of February 19, 2008.   Save These Dates and be a part of the excitement and experience of the McCoy Center Grand Opening!
