The City of New Albany is launching a new bike-sharing program on May 3rd. The program is to encourage more people to explore New Albany on bikes. Dream Industries, a New Albany business, has sponsored the program to provide 10 bikes to the city. The location of the bike station is near the southwest corner of New Albany-Condit Road and Walton Parkway.
The New Albany Library, a local staple for the community, is currently undergoing renovations. Starting in January, the library is getting a $1.9 million renovation that includes a new ceiling, lighting, flooring, windows, HVAC, and furniture. The upgrades also have a new customer-service desk, a larger teen area, and a more extensive Homework Help Center.
This month, the Scottish brewery, Brewdog, announced their new location is coming to New Albany this summer. Taking over the former New Albany Mill Building, the new brewery will have 6,900 square feet of indoor restaurant space and 1,645 square feet for a covered patio.
New Albany City Council approved spending on the 100-acre park this month. Phase 1 of the plan includes 3.5 miles of multi-purpose trails, seating areas, parking, and landscaping.
