Maintaining Your Air Conditioner
Summer is in full-swing with temperatures in the 80s almost everyday. With how hot it is outside, you need to make sure your air conditioner is up to speed to ensure a cool home.
In 2020, the production of the R-22 Freon, used in older air conditioners, was halted and will no longer be used. R-22 Freon began phasing out in 1992 by the EPA due to the harmful effects it has on the ozone. Puron will now replace R-22 Freon, which is a cheaper and safer replacement to freon.
With the new regulations in air conditioners, many are wondering if they need to replace their air conditioner or buy an HVAC. The good news is that you don’t need to rush to buy a new AC just yet. Even with the halt in production, limited recycled amounts will still be available.
It’ll take some time before those recycled amounts will be used up so no need to rush into buying a new system. Remember to maintain your air conditioner by replacing the air filter every month and keep the coils clean!
